If we could see that every thought, word, deed and act we do or make has direct consequences for our future, we would clean up our act really fast, would we not? If only we could see that we create our fortunes, good or bad. We could harness that power and create a better life for ourselves and for the collective.
We’re so focused on task-oriented living, on skills and projects and endeavors, but what if we changed our focus a bit? We may be involved in all of those things, but we could set our priority on bringing a light touch to everything we do, and good fortune into the world. Bring the Gift of Love, and to live through the heart. We can be fluent in the language of emotions but never be overwhelmed by those emotions. We could begin to love things like dialogue, connection, touch, laughter, good food, and good living. We can love wine and good company. Seriously! Stop being so serious! Let’s enjoy the fruits of the Earth, even in very small measures.

Let’s take a moment to see the bigger picture. We are here to learn to see the drama as a playing field for learning and evolving. The evolution we encounter in one lifetime will show up in the next. Life is serious and has a lot of challenges, but seeing the bigger picture and focusing on how it effects the evolution of the collective helps us from getting too bogged down into the drama. We will connect with the souls of our fractal line many times over many lifetimes, and we will experience things as many times as we need to, in order to transmute our shadows. So relax, and try to enjoy life a little. This is how we begin to manifest our dreams.

New Year’s Day is the beginning of a new cycle in life. So spend today changing your perspective of life and embrace a world view of prosperity. Embrace the prosperity of health, love and wealth. Live life with a lighter heart and embrace the joy in simple pleasures.
On this day we focus on luck. We eat foods and do activities associated with luck, love, prosperity, and good fortune.
A family tradition has been to eat the best you can afford, dress as nice as you can and accept your New Year fortune. We focus on balance and lining up our home with flowing positive energies. We decorate our home to welcome the love and prosperity with symbols from all over the world. We give everyone a dollar coin to keep for a keep sake.
This year we looked into the tradition of having a holiday goose for our New Year’s Celebration. For centuries roasted goose has graced holiday dinner tables in thousands of homes throughout the world. It has become somewhat of a luxury here in the U.S. as it is not as popular. It does have a higher price tag, but so does select cuts of other meats. So I believe the tradition has waivered for other reasons. Perhaps the onset of having turkey for holiday meals.

The goose has beautiful spiritual meanings and was dedicated & sacrificed to Thor and Odin. It was a sacred bird in the Roman temples of Juno, it was associated with the North Wind in Greek Mythology and is the totem for the Winter Solstice for the Native Americans. The time when Canada geese migrate announces the passages of the Great Circle of the Year, reminding us of the sanctity of the cycles of our lives.
There is so much we can learn from the goose. We can gain much from observing this bird’s compliant and communal demeanor – they don’t ever leave behind an ill or wounded fellow bird. They are very compassionate, caring and loving selfless creatures. They also know when to lead or when to follow – members of a flock alternate these roles. The Goose is also a symbol of fertility and fidelity.
These are beautiful qualities to embrace this year as we learn to live a simpler and more joyful life. So for this New Year’s meal we enjoy the goose. A prosperous and joyful meal of roasted goose, apple-orange stuffing, roasted rosemary potatoes with red cabbage, nut bread, plum pudding, and a lovely light salad with cranberries and nuts. We serve it with a light pink wine and some punch.

What ever you serve this New Year’s Day, let it bring warmth and joy to your family. May you embrace the life you wish to live through your emotions and activities on the day as a new cycle begins. Much love to you and yours this New Year.
Blessed Be
