There are three different scryings. Each one is complete in itself and it serves a different stage of the journey. And together they form a complete arc. From the first terrifying awareness through the fire of transformation to the activated road of purpose.
The first thing most people in the middle of this moment need is not a strategy or an action plan. Nor is it someone telling them to think positively or focus on what they can control. The first thing they need is someone to look them in the eyes and say, what you are experiencing is real. It is not your fault, you are not imagining the scale of what is happening, and you are not alone.
The Transition Scrying

That moment where they felt the ground shift, and became disoriented by the scope of what is changing all around them. There is a phase of transformation that almost nobody talks about honestly. This is because it is the most disorienting phase of all and there is almost no cultural language for it. It is the phase after the first shock has passed and the new orientation has not yet arrived. The phase where you are no longer who you were. The old identity, the old certainties, or the old way of making sense of things has dissolved. And you are not yet who you are becoming.
The Emergence Scrying
In alchemy, this phase is called the nigredo and the albedo: the blackening and the whitening. The dissolution. The stage where the substance being transformed breaks down completely into its essential components before something new can be assembled from them. Most people living inside this phase think they are falling apart. The alchemists understood that dissolution is not failure. Dissolution is the work.
Inside the chrysalis, the caterpillar does not slowly grow wings. It dissolves completely into liquid. Every structure that made it a caterpillar breaks down into undifferentiated cellular soup. From that dissolution, something entirely new assembles itself. The Alchemist is in the soup. That is not a problem to be solved. That is the transformation underway.

The Next Phase

Hecate stands at the crossroads holding two torches. She does not stand there because she is lost. But, stands there because the crossroads is her domain, & the sacred intersection of all roads. The place where every possible direction is simultaneously visible, and the threshold between the known and the not-yet-built.
She does not choose the road for you. Only lights all the paths so you can see clearly and choose for yourself. That is the entire function of the Crossroads Scrying.
The Coven of the Wayfarer has orientation. The long interior work is not done, it is never fully done, but the fundamental question has shifted. No longer what is happening to me or who am I becoming. The question now is: where do I walk from here, with whom, and carrying what?
This reading does not answer those fears with reassurance. It answers them with reconnaissance. The word is used deliberately. A Crossroads Scrying is a multi-dimensional sacred intelligence gathering about your specific instrument. It reveals who you are, how you are wired, what you have been forged by. Those are the three images at the heart of the three readings, and they are not random. They are the oldest symbols of the complete initiatory journey. The lantern in the darkness when you do not know where you are. The fire of transformation when you are being unmade and remade. And the torch carried outward when you know who you are and where you are walking.
The Coven Badges
The Initiates badge carries a lantern resting on a crescent moon, held inside an arched window. The arch is the threshold, the viewer stands on the outside looking through, but not yet through. The labyrinth is visible in the background. One continuous path with no dead ends, which is the most important thing an Initiate needs to know. The moth approaches the light in the way the Initiate approaches this moment. Quietly, genuinely, & oriented toward something they cannot yet name.
The Alchemists badge carries an iron cauldron with the alchemical sun face embossed on its body. Sol, the masculine principle of consciousness, over a blue-white alchemical fire that burns at the highest heat. The emerald liquid inside glows from within. From the steam, a winged skull rises. The death of the avatar. The birth of what was always essential. The cauldron holds what the storm broke open.
The Wayfarers badge carries an ancient Celtic crossroads stone. The crossroads made permanent, carved into the earth, & bearing the Agape Covens symbol on its face. A crow watches from the top of the stone, while a torch burns beside it. The crimson horizon behind the hills is the rubedo. The reddening that signals the alchemical work is approaching completion. The dawn of activated purpose, and the fire already moving toward those who are ready.
