Housing Sector

“The Buildings Are the Hearth of the Community”

THE CALL

The Hearthkeepers are called to those who know: shelter is sacred, home is a human right, and rootedness enables all other healing.

When housing fails, everything else crumbles. Without stable shelter, you can’t heal, work, parent, or build community. Homelessness destroys the soul.

You are the ones who tend the hearth, and create sanctuary when the world is in chaos. Building homes that hold rather than extract. Innately understand that housing IS healthcare, education, & economic stability.

THE WORK

The Coven of the Hearthkeepers serves:

  • Shelter, home, and rootedness for all
  • Housing alternatives as systems fail
  • Community-centered building and design
  • Sanctuary during instability

You build:

  • Cooperative housing and land trusts
  • Tiny home villages and alternative shelters
  • Repair and renovation co-ops
  • Multigenerational housing models
  • Accessible and affordable housing
  • Homelessness prevention and support
  • Community ownership of buildings

You maintain:

  • The hearth fire of community
  • Sacred space for healing and growth
  • Physical stability that enables other work
  • Homes that nourish rather than drain

THE MEDICINE

Your wound: You’ve experienced homelessness, housing instability, eviction, unaffordable rent, or the trauma of shelter insecurity. You know what it does to the body and soul.

Your gift: You can create sanctuary anywhere. You understand that home isn’t about perfection, it’s about HOLDING. About safety. Its a place to return to when the world is too much.

Your medicine to the whole: You are the foundation. Without the Hearthkeepers, no other coven can function. Healthcare workers need homes. Teachers need homes. Everyone needs the hearth.

YOU MIGHT BE CALLED TO THIS COVEN IF…

You’ve survived homelessness or housing insecurity

Worked in construction, repair, property management, or housing advocacy

Have an understanding of how housing determines health, education, economic outcomes

You’re already building cooperative or community-owned housing

Have skills in building, design, renovation, or maintenance

Are capable of organizing tenants or coordinate housing resources

You know how to create sanctuary from very little
