And just days later, on February 1-2, we celebrate Imbolc, the festival of Brigid, Celtic goddess of the forge, the flame, and the first stirrings of spring.

THE RED FIRE HORSE: WAKE UP (NO CHOICE)
The Wood Snake year (2025) showed us what had to die. It moved quietly through the underbrush, exposing rot, revealing corruption, marking which systems were already decomposing beneath their polished facades. We watched institutions tremble. Saw masks begin to slip. And felt the ground shifting beneath structures we’d been told were permanent.
But snakes are subtle creatures, content to whisper their warnings from the shadows.
Horses are not.
The Red Fire Horse doesn’t slither through darkness sharing secrets. It gallops, violent, passionate, undeniable, trampling everything in its path that cannot withstand the thunder of its hooves.
What the Red Fire Horse Brings
Maximum Chaos
Systems that have been wobbling will crash. Innovations that have been developing in the margins will explode onto center stage. Changes so drastic, so extreme, that those who haven’t been preparing will experience it as a nightmare.
The Great Awakening (Whether People Are Ready or Not)
This is the year when EVERYONE, not just those who’ve been doing shadow work, not just the transition leaders who’ve been building alternatives, everyone realizes what has to happen. The masks fall completely. The illusions shatter. There is no more pretending.
Passionate Reaction
The newly awakened will move through shock, fear, anger, blame. They’re at the beginning of a mourning process you’ve already navigated. They’ll react with desperate intensity, looking for someone to save them, someone to blame, some way to make it all make sense.
The Choice Point
This fire can create or destroy. It can forge new worlds or burn everything to ash. The choice, always, is ours.
BRIGID’S FLAME: CHOOSE THE FORGE
Into this chaos steps Brigid, the ancient Celtic goddess who presides over:
The Forge – Where raw material is transformed through fire into tools, weapons, sacred objects
The Flame – Of inspiration, creativity, poetry, prophecy
The Threshold – Between winter and spring, darkness and light, death and rebirth
Imbolc marks the first stirrings of spring, not the gentle spring of flowers and birdsong, but the violent spring of frozen ground cracking open, of ice dams breaking, of forces that have been building all winter suddenly unleashed.
Beneath the frozen earth, sprouts are pushing upward. You can’t see them yet. They don’t look like anything the old world would recognize. But they’re coming.
Brigid’s Sacred Question
She stands at her forge with two flames burning:
The flame of creation
The flame of destruction
Both are necessary but sacred. Both are happening simultaneously in 2026.
The old world is burning. The new world is being forged.
Same fire. Different applications.
And Brigid asks you:
“Do you want to be the blacksmith? Or do you want to be the raw ore?”

Everyone realizes what has to happen. Systems crash and innovations explode. The nightmare becomes undeniable.
2027 – Fire Goat: “Build (or die)”
We lay cornerstones and create foundations. New generation born with “opened DNA” consciousness ready for the new world.
2028 – Earth Monkey: “LIVE (or what’s the point?)”
After survival mode, we remember joy, play, culture, and meaning. We create beauty again.
2029 – Earth Rooster: “Organize (or lose it all)”
We defend what we’ve built. Integrate technology with meaning. We fine-tune our new systems.
2030 – Metal Dog: “Unite (or face the threat alone)”
Leaders rise and communities coordinate. We stand together against whatever threatens the new world.
2031 – Metal Pig: “Harvest what we built”
Abundance. Celebration. Reaping the rewards of all that burning, building, defending.
2032 – Water Rat: “Begin again from MASTERY”
New cycle. New beginning. Built on wisdom, not naivety. The Crossroads Movement fully operational.
We’re at the START of this arc. 2026 is Year One.
And it begins with fire.
HOW TO CELEBRATE IMBOLC 2026: CLAIMING THE FIRE
This isn’t your grandmother’s candle meditation. This is claiming the full power of transformation fire in the year it’s most needed.
CONSECRATE YOUR FORGE (January 25-31)
Before the Red Fire Horse arrives, prepare your sacred space:
Physical Forge
Create or claim a space in your home where you do your deepest work. This could be:
- An altar dedicated to Brigid
- A workshop or creative space
- A desk where you plan and strategize
- Even a specific chair or corner
Cleanse it thoroughly. Mark it as sacred. This is where the forging happens.
Energetic Forge
Establish or recommit to a daily practice that keeps you connected to Source:
- Meditation or stillness
- Movement or dance
- Creative expression
- Ritual or ceremony
Make it non-negotiable. This is your anchor when chaos swirls.
Temporal Forge
Block out protected time that is yours alone, time that’s sacred, off-limits to demands, dedicated to your transformation and your work.
Guard all three fiercely. You can’t be forged if you’re scattered.
IDENTIFY WHAT NEEDS TO BURN (February 1)
On Imbolc itself, take time to name what must be released:
Old Identities
The version of you that fit into systems that no longer exist. Who were you serving? What role did you play in the old world? Let it burn.
Outdated Skills
Expertise that was valuable in the old paradigm but is useless now. What did you spend years mastering that no longer serves? Release it with gratitude.
False Securities
The beliefs that kept you feeling safe but were actually keeping you trapped. What illusions are you still clinging to? Name them. Burn them.
Toxic Loyalties
Relationships, institutions, or communities that drain rather than nourish. What connections are you maintaining out of obligation rather than alignment? It’s time.
Write these on paper. Actually burn them in Brigid’s flame (safely, in a fireproof container or hearth). Let the smoke carry them away.
DECLARE WHAT YOU’RE FORGING (February 2)
On the second day of Imbolc, claim what you’re becoming:
Role as Transition Leader
What is YOUR specific contribution to building the new world? What sector do you serve? What gifts do you bring?
New Skills
What capacities do you need to develop? What training are you undertaking? What mastery are you committed to?
Infrastructure
What are you actually building? Not thinking about building—BUILDING. What prototype, what system, what alternative are you creating?
Community
Who are your people? Who are you building WITH? Where is your coven, your council, your crew?
Write these declarations. Speak them aloud. Make them vows.
Place them on your Brigid altar. Let them be witnessed by the sacred fire.
THE THREE BATTLES OF 2026
As the Red Fire Horse gallops through this year, transition leaders will be fighting on three fronts simultaneously:
Battle One: Survival
The immediate crisis response. When systems crash:
- Can people eat?
- Do they have shelter?
- Can they stay safe?
- Do they have healthcare?
This is emergency infrastructure and mutual aid networks. Community pantries and skill shares. Resource coordination. The work that keeps people alive while everything transforms.
Battle Two: Human Connection
The battle against isolation, despair, and the weaponization of fear. When people are terrified:
- Can they find community?
- Do they have support?
- Can they process their grief?
- Do they have hope?
This is holding space and creating containers. Offering frameworks and building bridges between the awakening or the already-awake. The work that keeps people human during dehumanizing chaos.
Battle Three: Building the Future
The construction of actual alternatives to collapsing systems. Not just theory, SYSTEMS THAT WORK:
- New economic models
- Regenerative food networks
- Decentralized education
- Community-based healthcare
- Synarchic governance
- Conscious technology
This is the Crossroads Movement in action. Eight sectors. Multiple communities. Coordinated infrastructure building. The work that creates the new world while the old one burns.
All three battles matter and require fire. All three need YOU.
BRIGID’S PROTECTION: FOR THOSE WALKING THROUGH FLAMES
Here’s what you need to understand as you step into this year:
You are not alone.
Other imaginal cells are clustering. Other transition leaders are activating. The Crossroads Council is gathering. You have people.
You’ve been training for this.
Every crisis you’ve navigated and every shadow integrated. Every skill you’ve learned and every connection you’ve built. It was all preparation for THIS.
The fire won’t consume you.
You’re not the raw ore being melted down without awareness. You’re the blacksmith, conscious, directed, wielding the hammer. The fire transforms you, but YOU direct the transformation.
The sprouts are coming.
Beneath the chaos, beneath the fear, beneath the violence of transformation, new systems are developing. You can’t see them all yet. They don’t look familiar, but they’re real. And they’re exactly what’s needed.
You were born for this moment.
Not metaphorically. Actually. Your soul chose this incarnation, this timeline, this particular convergence of chaos and creation. You WANTED to be here for this.

PRACTICAL FIRE MAGIC: YOUR IMBOLC RITUAL
Here’s a complete ritual you can adapt to your needs:
Materials Needed:
- Candles (at least one large pillar for Brigid, plus smaller candles for releasing/claiming)
- Fireproof container for burning
- Paper and pen
- Matches or lighter
- Optional: Representations of Brigid (images, symbols, offerings)
- Optional: Herbs associated with Brigid (rosemary, basil, angelica)
The Ritual:
1. Create Sacred Space (5-10 minutes)
- Cleanse your space with smoke, sound, or intention
- Cast a circle if that’s part of your practice
- Call in your guides, ancestors, or deities
- Invite Brigid specifically to preside over this working
2. Light Brigid’s Flame (10 minutes)
- Light your central candle
- Speak aloud why you’re here
- Name the transformation you’re seeking
- Ask Brigid to hold you as you walk through fire
3. Burn What Must Go (15-20 minutes)
- Take your list of what needs to burn
- Read each item aloud before burning it
- Watch the smoke carry it away
- Feel the release in your body
- Let yourself grieve if grief comes
4. Declare What You’re Forging (15-20 minutes)
- Take your declarations list
- Speak each one as a vow
- Light a candle for each declaration
- Place them on your altar
- Feel the commitment in your bones
5. Receive Brigid’s Blessing (10 minutes)
- Sit in silence before the flames
- Allow any guidance to come through
- Journal what you receive
- Accept the protection and power being offered
6. Close Sacred Space (5 minutes)
- Thank Brigid and any beings you called
- Release the circle if you cast one
- Ground yourself fully
- Let the candles burn completely (safely) or extinguish with intention
7. Take One Action (Immediately)
- Do not leave your ritual without taking one concrete step toward your declarations
- Text someone. Make a plan. Start a project. Register a domain. Whatever is next, DO IT.
- This seals the magic into material reality

Systems are crashing and innovations are exploding. The un-awakened are about to wake up whether they’re ready or not. And you, transition leader, imaginal cell, and blueprint carrier have a choice:
Will you use this fire to build? Or will you let it consume you? Are you wiling to step into the forge consciously? Or will you be shaped by forces you don’t direct? Can you claim your power as blacksmith? Or remain raw ore, waiting to be worked?
