Yule has a way of celebrating every part of this sensual physical experience. With all kinds of reflections of our spiritual nature. On days one through three, we celebrated our creation and the Mother energies, and our connection to the moon and nature.

Today we start looking at our relationships with each other. We share our love and appreciation for those outside our families and inner circle. We show our newfound universal love with neighbors, coworkers, peers, and the community. Relationships of all sorts are rooted in emotions. They are specifically in our lives to help us work out our inner shadows and to truly embrace universal love. We basically learn a lot, what and who we want to be. How we can help others and who we may choose not to have in our lives. We learn healthy boundaries and true compassion.

Physical symbols of emotions are oceans and bodies of water. Each body of water depicts different emotions depending on being a still lake, a trinkling stream, or a rushing river into a raging ocean. Today is our water theme. Water that represents the mother’s blood, the Holy Grail, etc. Our oceans provide for all of earth’s citizens. It provides for many creatures and plants. Our natural streams provide water for us to drink and use. The lakes provide other animals and nourishment. Water covers our entire planet under and beside lands. Our bodies, (animals and plants included) hold high percentages of water. Water is in the air on both sides of the atmosphere. So, water is vital to our physical existence, and it symbolizes the life force that we need as well. Transformation is done by diving deep into our inner dark oceans and coming out to the light.

We must constantly clean up the pollution of our waters of our bodies, our air, and our earth. Water is one of the things that connects all of us and everything. What we do for the whole, we do for ourselves. Whether we like it or not we need each other and we need all of nature. Today we show appreciation and love of this vital life force. There are many ways to show blessings and appreciation to your neighbors, peers, coworkers, and your community. This also extends to love to your global citizens and neighbors. One main thing we can do for the whole and ourselves is clean and protect all of our waters.

You can also extend your love to neighbors through gifts, inviting them into your home for warmth and refreshments with toasts to the new year, spending quality time with them, or helping them with something. Showing compassion to peers or coworkers can be done with gifts or cards, a small party, and an invite to a social event, helping them out with some recent deadlines, and extending your friendship. Loving your community comes from simply giving time. Yes time. Spend time with the elderly or singles who live in your neighborhood. Don’t let them go all season alone. Give rides to those who need them. Chop wood or run errands. Help others decorate. Volunteer at centers in your community helping those in need. Stand up for those who feel beaten down and be their voice for change. Create spending habits that do not support marketing and business that manipulate people through guilt and nostalgia. Help your community enjoy a simple but heartfelt Yule celebration.

Loving our global community has to do with your perception. Yes, your philosophy on universal love. When you refer to happenings around the world do you judge those people involved by the limited news you get about the situation? Step back and realize that you cannot possibly know what they are going through and how they process the situation. Unless you have been through it. And then each person sees through the glasses of their own experiences. Media and propaganda word their stories in a negative bias. It is a sitcom drama about world events. Please don’t hate a certain group of people because of the way they are portrayed in the media. You wouldn’t want it done to you. Remember water or emotions connect us all, everywhere around the globe.

Our water theme leads to decorations made of seashells and depicting beautiful creatures of our waters. Paintings of beautiful horizons over the waters, and by the streams. Calming water sounds in the background. Tree decorations made with themes of the sea. Also we spend time cleaning up our local waterways. Our meal is composed of seafood like fish, shrimp, scallops, octopus, etc. Joined with cucumber salad, okra, and stuffed mushrooms. We enjoy garnishes of seaweed. All with a tall glass of fresh ice water and white wine. Gifts for the fourth day of Yule is the love gained by giving to others and the community. Showing how we are all connected by our watery emotions.

Blessed Be
