Mother’s Night is a tribute to all Mother’s, but also to the Divine Mother. The Womb in which all comes. A tribute to a Mother’s tears of love, as we all are allowed to suffer for the evolution of being human in the sensual experience. Spending lifetimes evolving closer to wince we came.

Divine Mother, which represents an androgyny universal principle of intuition, independence, self-trust, self-knowledge and self-resourcefulness. This androgynous figure also represents the balance known to Chinese scholars as the female magnetic force, curved, soft and receptive, that is Ying and, the strong, dynamic, electric force of Yang which is from the navel down, all the straight lines. Also represented by the the Native American Spider Woman, whom with these energies create the Universe.

The Divine Mother is the guardian of the Abyssal Womb, the gateway to knowledge, the invisible arcane knowledge of the esoteric subtle aspects of all life. Aspects that most do not even know exist. She is associated with the Moon, and the dark well-spring of life known as the Abyssal Womb. She is the amnionic fluid, the water of the Universe. She is the Nature of the Universe and all that is natural, and everything is natural.

One of the symbols of this Divine Energy is the serpent which is a Celtic symbol of wisdom, secret knowledge, cunning and transformation and depict the inner mystery of kundalini, our inner soul. Another symbol is the spider, which points to her weaving or wyrd magic, for just as the Native American Spider Woman, she holds the secret threads of the living and non-living, weaving a tapestry of life called the Universe and Nature. She guides all change, life and death, creating and destroying as need be.

The Divine Mother reminds us to look inward to our dark mystery, that reflects us as outside light. Interestingly, the androgyny reminds us that we are all composed of the receptive female magnetic and the strong assertive electric forces of male. Although we are enticed by the male need to control the world of light, she states that it is now the time to attend to the dark inner world of receptive intuition, what truly stirs our hearts. When combining this vastly new way of being or seeing, with that of the male energy, we then begin releasing into the world around us this immense power, goodness and knowledge that transforms and expands life.

“POWER” Understood to be the active dimension of the godhead, the divine power that underlies the godhead’s ability to create the world and to display itself. Within the totality of the godhead, it is the complementary pole of the divine tendency toward calm and stillness. Many identify it with a female being, a goddess, and to identify the other pole with her male consort. The two poles are understood to be interdependent and to have equal status in terms of the divine system. Sometimes the deity is equally male and female, illustrating that the creation, maintenance, and destruction of the universe is dependent on both forces. It is a powerful energy that is responsible for the creation, maintenance, and destruction of the Universe. It is identified as female energy as it is responsible for creation, as mothers are responsible for birth. The womb where ideas are made manifests into thought and existence. Without it, nothing in this universe would happen; she stimulates (Siva, Zues, Darkness, Kether, Crown, Jupiter, God), which is passive energy in the form of consciousness, to create.

The Trinity, (“Brahma”, “Vishnu” and “Shiva”) (Kether, Chokmah, and Binah) (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) etc. represents the thought coming to be from the darkness and the spirit. Knowledge comes from the unity of wisdom and understanding. To seek this vast sea of hidden knowledge we must go deep within our own darkness. The answers and inspiration all come from within. On Mother’s Night we recognize this very act of bringing knowledge from the womb. The act of bringing our outside light into the darkness. It is a journey of courage as there is no feeling here, only knowing. But to find the sea you must tame the dragons in your shadows. You must change your perspective of your shadows and see them as the gifts needed to approach the sea. A story depicted in many a myth and legend. You have to be your own hero, because only you can do it.

Let’s take a moment on this Mother’s Night to appreciate the darkness from wince we all came, where everything came. Let’s sit comfortably with all the ones we love in total darkness and peaceful quiet. A moment of nothing, no feeling, no fear, just a knowing. As we light our candles, we bring light and warmth as the sun does to the long nights of winter. As winter blankets and protects the seeds in the ground, your ideas and dreams are blanketed deep inside awaiting inspiration. When the sun brings warmth to the earth in the Spring so will inspiration grow within you.

Enjoy eggnog and toast the celebration of protection and deep contemplation. Through some drink on the Yule log to ignite the eternal flame. Then light the Yule lights, and Yule log, out of celebration, for the Yule season has started. Sitting by the fire, enjoy comfort foods like soup and homemade bread. Allow your recent contemplation to sink in and reveal things to you over time. Much love to all mothers on this night.
