RIDING THE LIGHTNING
Practical Strategies for Using Princess of Wands Energy to Build Instead of Destroy
Published: February/March 2026
The lightning is striking! Can you feel it?
Not metaphorically, But actually!
The air is electric with change so rapid it crackles. Systems are shorting out. Innovations are sparking to life. The old structures are being struck down while new ones are being charged up.
And you, Transition Leader, you get to choose:
Do you become the lightning rod?
Or do you become the lightning itself?

THE PRINCESS OF WANDS STANDS NAKED IN THE FIRE
Look at her.
Completely exposed. Holding a tiger by the tail with one hand. Wielding the Solar Wand with the other.
Plumes of fire radiating from her crown. Standing in flames that would consume anyone else.
She is FEARLESS!
Not because she doesn’t feel fear, but because she’s made fear her fuel.
She is the earthly part of fire, and the combustible substance. The thing that catches flame and BURNS.
A magnetic force giving shape to electric discharge, the aurora borealis, a wild, and untamed beauty created when solar wind meets Earth’s magnetic field. The ultimate irresistible chemical attraction.
She is passion so pure it becomes spiritual potency.
And in 2026, THE PRINCESS OF WANDS is UNLEASHED!
The Red Fire Horse has brought her energy to fever pitch, while Brigid’s forge has heated her to transformation.
This means that the lightning is striking and the all encompassing fire is consuming.
And she is grinning.
Because THIS, chaos, collapse, and catastrophic change, is her natural habitat.
This is where she thrives and what she was MADE for.
The question is: Are YOU ready or able to embody her?

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DESTRUCTIVE FIRE AND CREATIVE FIRE
Let’s be absolutely clear about something:
The Princess of Wands energy doesn’t care which you choose.
Fire burns. Lightning strikes. Passion consumes.
That’s what this energy does.
You can use it to:
- Burn down oppressive structures AND build alternatives
- Destroy what’s dying AND create what’s being born
- Fight against tyranny AND fight FOR liberation
- Rage against injustice AND channel that rage into action
Or you can use it to:
- Burn everything including yourself
- Destroy without creating
- Fight everyone including your allies
- Rage without direction or purpose
Same fire.
Radically different outcomes.
The difference isn’t in the intensity of the fire. The Princess of Wands is ALWAYS intense, passionate, and
always extreme.
The difference is in the DIRECTION.
Are you the tiger she’s holding by the tail? Wild, powerful, dangerous, and DIRECTED.
Or are you the chaos she’s standing in? Consuming everything indiscriminately.
This is the mastery we’re developing right now.
It is not the time to be less intense, to tone it down, or to be more palatable, appropriate or acceptable.
It is time to be FEROCIOUSLY INTENSE in SERVICE of creation rather than destruction.
THE UNAWAKENED ARE ABOUT TO BECOME INTENSELY ACTIVATED
Remember what we talked about in Part One?
The ‘Unawakened’ are entering the shock phase. Many are beginning to wake up and their masks are falling off. It is impossible to pretend anymore.
And you know what happens when people suddenly wake up to how bad things really are?
They get ACTIVATED.
All that energy they’ve been using to maintain denial, to stay asleep, and to keep the masks on doesn’t disappear. It gets REDIRECTED.
And in 2026, with Red Fire Horse energy amplifying everything, that redirection is going to be EXPLOSIVE.
They’re going to be intensely, passionately, and desperately activated.
But here’s the thing:
New activation without wisdom is absolute chaos!
They’re going to be ON FIRE with righteous anger from the lies, desperate fear about their future, passionate conviction about what to hold onto, and unstoppable energy to DO SOMETHING about it.
But they won’t know WHAT to do.
So they’ll do what newly activated people always do:
They’ll thrash. Many will act out or become extremely reclusive. Either way a danger to themselves and others.
Then the blame game begins. They begin to point fingers, find enemies, join movements without understanding them, and take extreme positions, while bouncing from one passionate cause to another.
A lot of people will burn themselves out, and even burn each other. They will even burn bridges.
Everything will burn!
Not because they’re bad people. But because they’re on fire without knowing how to direct the flame.

YOUR JOB: TEACH THEM TO RIDE THE LIGHTNING
You, Transition Leader who’s been doing this work for years, you have a job right now.
To tone down their passion, or making them more acceptable.
You will teach them how to DIRECT it.
Because here’s what you know that passion without direction is just destruction. Fire without purpose is just consumption. And lightning without a rod is just random strikes.
Now stop and ponder what passion is WITH direction. Or fire WITH purpose and lightning WITH intention. This is magic, and power at our finger tips. This is manifestation that builds worlds.
So your job, in your sector, in your community, in your specific sphere of influence, is to BE the lightning rod.
The temptations will be to absorb all the energy yourself, to take all the hits and to protect everyone from the chaos. But that is just enabling.
Instead we are to DIRECT the lightning toward what needs to be built.
Anger can be channeled toward change.
Fear can be transformed to power.
Activation is used to BUILD worlds.
This is riding the lightning. And remember there is no controlling or containing it. It is wild and untamed. DIRECTING it toward creation instead of letting it scatter into destruction.

PRACTICAL STRATEGIES FOR DIRECTING FIRE ENERGY
Enough theory. Let’s get tactical.
Here’s how you actually DO this:
STRATEGY ONE: CREATE CONTAINERS FOR THE FIRE
We know that fire without containment burns everything. So we contain it. The fire in a hearth warms a home. A fire in a forge shapes tools. And fire in an engine powers movement.
The newly activated need CONTAINERS for their energy.
What does this look like in practice?
1. In your community:
- Organize specific action days: “Every Tuesday we build the community garden”
- Create roles: “You’re good at organizing? Here’s the coordination team”
- Set clear projects: “We’re building 10 tiny homes by summer. Join us.”
2. In your sector:
- Define concrete goals: “We’re creating 5 mutual aid networks by Ostara”
- Establish clear metrics: “Success looks like X people served, Y systems replaced”
- Create accountability structures: “We meet weekly, report monthly, celebrate quarterly”
3. In your work:
- Channel creation: “Turn that anger into art/writing/music”
- Direct service: “Use that energy to help these specific people”
- Build alternatives: “Instead of fighting the old system, build this new one”
The key is SPECIFICITY.
“Get involved” is too vague. “Show up Tuesday at 3pm to help frame the first tiny house” is concrete.
“Make a difference” is too broad. “Your skill in plumbing is exactly what we need for the community shower project” is directed.
Give them containers. Watch the fire become useful.

STRATEGY TWO: CELEBRATE PASSION (Don’t Shame It)
Here’s what usually happens when newly activated people show up in established movements:
They come in HOT full of ideas and ready to change everything. They may even start criticizing what’s been done and demanding immediate radical action.
And the old guard response is usually:
“Calm down.”
“Be realistic.”
“We’ve tried that.”
“You don’t understand how things work.”
This is a catastrophic mistake.
Because what you’re actually saying is:
“Your passion is a problem.”
“This intensity is unwelcome.”
“That fire needs to be dampened.”
And you’ve just lost them.
Either they leave to find somewhere that will accept their intensity…
Or they turn their fire AGAINST you for not being radical enough.
Instead, try this:
“Your passion is EXACTLY what we need. Let me show you where to direct it.”
“That intensity? That’s the fuel for this entire movement. Here’s how to use it.”
“You want radical change? Perfect. Here’s the most radical thing you can do RIGHT NOW.”
Celebrate their fire.
Then direct it.
Instead of lowering the flame give it better fuel and point it at a better target.

STRATEGY THREE: TEACH THEM THE HAMMER WORK
Remember from Part Two?
Transformation requires repetition. Heat and hammer. And heat and hammer. Then heat and hammer.
The newly activated have the HEAT.
Boy, do they have heat.
They’re ON FIRE!!
What they’re missing is the HAMMER WORK.
A forge of daily discipline and the hammering of repetitive action. The unglamorous consistency of shaping and cooling.
They want to:
- Overthrow the government (heat)
- But won’t show up to weekly organizing meetings (hammer)
- Transform healthcare (heat)
- But won’t learn first aid or herbalism (hammer)
- Build alternative education (heat)
- But won’t actually teach their own kids (hammer)
Your job is to teach them:
Revolution isn’t one dramatic moment. It’s daily disciplined action while showing up again and again.
It’s heat AND hammer.
Practically, this means:
When they say: “We should do something about housing!”
You say: “Great. Here’s the hammer. We’re framing walls every Saturday. See you at 9am.”
When they say: “The food system is broken!”
You say: “Agreed. Here’s the hammer. We’re planting seeds every Wednesday. Bring gloves.”
When they say: “Education needs to change!”
You say: “Yes. Here’s the hammer. You’re teaching a skill-share next month. What are you teaching?”
Don’t lecture them about discipline. Hand them the hammer and show them where to swing it.

STRATEGY FOUR: REDIRECT RAGE INTO BUILDING
Rage is fire!
Pure, hot, unstoppable fire!
And the newly awakened are FULL of it!
Rage at being lied to, observing the corruption, experiencing the injustice, and at the systems that harmed them or everyone they love.
This rage is VALID and NECESSARY! It needs to turned into FUEL!
But rage alone destroys.
Your job isn’t to eliminate their rage. It’s to redirect it. From the rally call of “Burn it all down”, to the conviction of “Let’s build something so good it makes the old system obsolete”
Here’s how:
When they’re raging about healthcare for example:
“You’re right to be angry. Now let’s build a community health circle so good that people stop using the hospitals.”
Another example is when they’re raging about food systems:
“Absolutely. Now let’s grow food so abundantly that people stop buying from corporate ag.”
And one more is when they’re raging about housing:
“Valid rage. Now let’s build housing so beautiful and affordable that the old model can’t compete.”
The formula is:
Validate the rage – Redirect it toward creation – Give them something to BUILD that’s more satisfying than destruction
Because here’s the secret:

Building something better is MORE satisfying than burning something down.
Remind everyone that destruction is quick, but creation is lasting. Destruction gives you a moment of catharsis but creation gives you a legacy. And destruction feels powerful in the moment, but creation makes you ACTUALLY powerful forever.
This is not taught through lectures but through daily experience from everyone. Those learning also have things to share. You will find yourself learning as much as them.
Let them feel the difference between screaming at a rally (rage) and building the alternative that makes the rally irrelevant (creation). Help them feel the difference between protesting outside a corporation (rage) and creating a cooperative that serves the same need better (creation).
Once they FEEL the difference, they’ll choose creation every time.
STRATEGY FIVE: CREATE ESCALATION PATHS
The newly activated don’t just want to help they want to TRANSFORM things. And they should.
But here’s what burns people out:
They jump straight to the most extreme, most radical, most intense action…
And discover they’re not ready for it yet. They want to feel heroic, like they are part of something bigger than themselves. Like in the movies. But change happens in the little actions, more than the big ones. In fact the big ones are prepped by the little things.
When they jump in head first with out getting a lay of the land and learn first they either fail and feel defeated, succeed but burn out immediately, or get hurt, arrested, or destroyed in the process.
None of these outcomes serve the movement.

So create escalation paths.
Not because you’re trying to slow them down. But because you’re trying to SUSTAIN them.
In practice, this looks like:
1: Show up
Come to a meeting. Bring food to a potluck. Attend a skill-share. Get to know people.
2: Contribute
Take on a small role. Help with a specific task. Share a skill. Support others’ work.
3: Coordinate
Organize an event. Lead a project. Teach others. Build a team.
4: Innovate
Start something new. Experiment with new approaches. Take risks. Push boundaries.
5: Lead
Hold vision. Make hard decisions. Navigate conflict. Steward the movement.
The key is that each level builds capacity for the next, while being necessary and valuable.
Someone at Level 1 is just as important as someone at Level 5. Each one just has different roles and readiness.
When the newly activated show up don’t immediately give them Level 5 responsibilities.
They’ll burn out or blow up.
Don’t keep them stuck at Level 1 forever either. They’ll get bored and leave.
Match their intensity to their current capacity. Then support them as they grow.
This isn’t gatekeeping. This is sustainable movement building with love and understanding.

THE THREE FIRES YOU’RE TENDING SIMULTANEOUSLY
As a Transition Leader in 2026, you’re managing three fires at once:
FIRE ONE: YOUR OWN
You’re still being forged in Brigid’s flames and still transforming.
Don’t neglect this fire.
If your own fire goes out, you can’t light others. Your own transformation stalls, and you can’t guide others through theirs.
Tend your own fire FIRST. And check in with it regularly.
A daily practice, some regular rest and ongoing shadow work provides continuous learning.
You can’t pour from an empty cup. But you also can’t pour from a cup that’s never filled.
Keep your own fire burning bright.
FIRE TWO: THE NEWLY ACTIVATED
They’re on fire!
Wild, uncontained, potentially destructive fire.
Your job is to direct it without extinguishing it.
Constructively give them containers. Don’t forget to celebrate their passion. Teach them the hammer while redirecting their rage into building. And create escalation paths.
Guide the lightning toward what needs to be built.
FIRE THREE: THE WORK ITSELF
The building is a fire that is tended regularly. Maintaining coals. It is building the actual projects, buildings, and the systems being created.
This fire needs steady feeding.
This consistent action and regular maintenance require ongoing attention.
All three fires need tending.
There is an art to fire tending.
It is making sure all are attended and none neglected. and knowing which needs attention when.

WHEN THE LIGHTNING STRIKES YOU
Here’s what nobody tells you about being a lightning rod:
Sometimes the lightning HITS you.
The chaos will find you and sometimes the crisis is yours. YOU’RE the one who’s activated, raging, and on fire.
This is normal.
You’re not immune to the transformation happening. Transition Leaders are not separate from the Great Transition. Everyone is IN IT and feeling its intensity.
So what do you do when YOU’RE the lightning?
Step One: ACKNOWLEDGE IT
It is not about being above it or pretending you’re not affected. It is about acknowledging and feeling through your vulnerabilities.
Say it out loud:
“I’m activated right now and I see my fire that is filled with rage, fear, or grief.” “I’m the lightning today, not the rod.”
Naming it gives you power over it.
Step Two: FIND YOUR OWN LIGHTNING ROD
You need someone who can hold steady while you discharge. We do this for each other. You will often return the favor. This provides trust, transparency, and authenticity. It reminds us of the fire.
It could be a trusted friend a mentor, a therapist, or even a fellow Transition Leader who’s NOT activated right now.
Someone who can say calmly and firmly, “I see you. I feel you. Your fire is valid. Now let’s direct it.”
You can’t be the rod for everyone all the time. Find people who can be the rod for YOU.
Step Three: USE THE PROTOCOLS YOU’RE TEACHING
You know the strategies that you teach to others. Use them on yourself.
Find a container for your fire. Where can you direct this energy productively?
How can you celebrate your passion. This intensity is fuel, not a problem.
Find you hammer work. What repetitive action can channel this?
Redirect your rage. What can you BUILD with this energy?
Evaluate your escalation path. What’s the right-sized action for your current capacity?
Be your own Transition Leader.

Step Four: RETURN TO THE FORGE
This is when you remember that when you’re the lightning, you’re not leading and when you’re the chaos, you’re not directing. And it is hard to be the container when you’re fire.
And that’s okay.
Go back to Brigid’s forge and let yourself be heated and hammered again. Take peace in the cooling of the sacred waters. Continue to be transformed.
Then return to the work. The movement needs your fire. But it also needs you to know when to step back and tend it.
THE LIGHTNING IS ONLY INCREASING
Every week now, something that seemed impossible becomes inevitable, every day, another system cracks and every hour, another innovation emerges.
The lightning strikes are accelerating.
This leads to a rush of blazing energy. The newly awakened are multiplying and more people are activating. More passion is unleashed which is more fire to direct.
This is what Spring 2026 looks like.
By Ostara (March 20-21), the blame-shame spiral begins and by Beltane (May 1), people are choosing sides. This means by Summer Solstice (June 20-21), the fire will take action.
And you, Transition Leader, you’re riding the lightning the whole way through.
This is your calling. It is your work. And it is what you were forged for.
So ride the lightning, Transition Leader while you wave your Solar Wand. Stand fearless in the fire and always direct the passion toward creation.

The Princess of Wands is grinning.
Because THIS is her natural habitat. And you’re learning to embody her. Naked, fearless, on fire, tiger by the tail, and lightning in your hands.
Building the world while the old one burns.
So mote it be.
